SEA LIFE Munich reopens from 19032021

The SEA LIFE Munich team is super-excited about the reopening. After several months of closure, the doors to the underwater world teeming with species will reopen. The facility is now home to many new and colourful animals, such as mandarinfish, batfish and a cute little pufferfish. Patrick Verbaast, General Manager of the large aquarium explains: "We are very happy that we are finally open again to our guests. SEA LIFE is brought to life through our species-rich inhabitants but also through our visitors. The prospect of being able to show people of all ages again why the seas are so fascinating is a great feeling and we can't wait." He assures: "Of course, we are opening taking into account all the relevant protective measures and regulations set out by the Bavarian State Ministry. We want our visitors to feel safe and comfortable here despite the significant restrictions and enjoy the underwater experience without any worries. The health and safety of our guests and staff are, of course, paramount." The biological team around Serdar Karagöz, curator of the large aquarium in the Olympic Park, has had reason to rejoice in recent weeks despite the closure. The sharks and rays in the Mediterranean harbour have had numerous offspring, which marine fans can now marvel at in the shark nursery. The little ones hatched healthily from their eggs in quarantine and have already moved into the exhibition, where they look absolutely adorable. Admission is only permitted with pre-booked and dated online tickets. They are available on the website. Annual pass holders can also reserve a time slot for their visit here free of charge. On site, entry is only permitted wearing an FFP2 mask without valve. The opening is, of course, at all times dependent on incidence rates in the city of Munich. To avoid crowds, no show feeding or guided tours will be offered for the time being.
