Rub shoulders with the professionals in the Olympiastadion at the SportScheck Outdoor Festival impark11 from the 19th to the 21st of August

From the slackline world record holder to the FC Bayern basketball player    The spectacular Outdoor weekend at the Olympiastadion will be welcoming some high-calibre visitors: Darius Hall, the 2.02 metre tall player much loved by the public from the FC Bayern München basketball team, will be coming along to the SportScheck Outdoor Festival on Saturday at 2 p.m. He will be signing autographs at the Radio Gong 96.3 show stage and will then be trying out one or two of the outdoor attractions on the Festival grounds. When a 120-kilo giant isn't working magic with basketballs, but rather perhaps hanging from a slackline, that's sure to be a real spectacle of a very unusual kind. He will be accompanied by Dennis Wucherer, 123-times national player and now Bayern trainer Dirk Bauermann's right-hand-man. Inside the Olympiastadion arena, he might even bump into Thomas "Shorty" Tauporn. The 20 year old is one of Germany's biggest new climbers in lead and speed climbing. In 2010, he was Junior World Champion and climbed to a very respectable finish in the Men's World Cup too. And he'll be coming to the Olympiastadion fresh from his victory of Vice World Champion in "Klettern Overall". He'll be talking to his fans at the show stage about his enthusiasm for climbing (3 p.m.) and then taking a tour, in which he'll be showing off his speed climbing skills. Anyone who wants to try out their skills as "Spiderman" can do so whenever they like. On Sunday at 1 p.m., there's going to be a competition for enthusiastic climbers: the ultimate duel - two identical routes, and the first to the top wins. Register free at the DAV stand. Lukas Irmler will also be coming along to the SportScheck Outdoor Festival on Sunday. He is one of the big stars of slackline on the long and high line.  He actually holds the long line world record at over 252 metres. A screen in the Outdoor Film Lounge will be showcasing spectacular images of his abilities, and of course he'll be putting in a live performance on the slackline. Visitors can look forward to quite a variety of attractions at the second SportScheck Outdoor Festival: high wire garden, speed climbing tower, slacklines, abseiling tournaments, a Flying Fox, bouldering, waveboarding, stand-up paddling, professional fire fighters, members of the mountain rescue service, mountainbiking, trail running and a whole raft of other activities to try. As well as the try-out sports to get involved with, there's of course also the fantastic support programme and a huge market. The sporting highlight of the Outdoor Festival will again be the showdown between the world's best climbers, the final of the IFSC Boulder World Cup 2011 on the 19th and 20th of August.
